Final animation: Audio Revolution

After everything was rendered and animated in Maya I had to put all of it together and animate all the transitions in after effects. Here is our final animation. Enjoy!

Train scene textured + Texture maps

Just a post of the textured train scene as well as the texture maps:

Texture maps:

Last bits and pieces

Here are the last bits and pieces I need to post. The model of the broom I made for scene 4, I seem to have deleted my copy of the textured one but it's textured in the final animation.

Some rendered still of scene 4, these are just so that you can see the scene from some different angles to the one you see in the animation.

And lastly here are some screen shots from after effects of some of the transitions in our animation.

Texture maps

Below is all the texture I've done for Scene 3 and 4.

Train Lighting

I forgot to save all of the lighting tests I did in maya, so I only have the finished lighting to show for the train scene.

This was the final box drop but it has changed to drop a little later in the animation

The light tests for the 80's scene

Below are all of the other lighting tests that led to the final lighting.

Texturing The last bits

Before I could go ahead and render out the 80's scene I needed to UV map and texture the Walkman, below is the results.

Scene 3 Animated in After Effects

Having finished rendering out scene 3 and combining the toon render with the final render in Photoshop. I took the images into after effects and animated them with their correct timings. Below is scene 3 animated in after effects.

Vinyl playblast

I was going to animate this scene in after effects but when I rendered out so test shots of the different layers the shadows from the other objects didn't appear or where in the wrong place. So I have animated it in maya and this is the playblast for the Gramophone.

Lighting Tests

Since my render time was a little excessive I had to make a few changes to it. I think it looks a lot better now, and the mirror is the way it should be now as well.

Moving back to scene 3 again, adding an ambient occlusion and rendering out the toon lines on a separate layer I finally managed to get the lighting for this Scene done. It's quite subtle but it's really just to give a bit more light and depth to the image.

And then lighting the first part of the Vinyl scene. Most of the lighting was already done for this just had to make sure that the scene wasn't to dark and that there were some nice shadows from the candles above it.

Lighting Tutorial

Alan has asked me to post up the tutorial I used for the lighting of my scene 4. There are 6 different tutorials on lighting their quite good, learnt a lot of interesting things about lighting from them.

Lighting tests

After looking at the lighting for scene 4 again I decided to change a few things like the texture in the mirror and the amount of candles there were on the wall they are minor changes but I feel they make a difference.

The mirror still wasn't quite right so I went back and fiddled around with it a little more.
